1. Where and how many times will mentees and mentors meet?
At least once a month virtually over zoom.
2. What is expected from mentors?
Mentors are expected to give students their full attention and commitment when they get matched. Mentors are expected to offer students advice, encouragement, how to improve their English, available resources, information on extracurricular activities, future college applications and a huge focus on what the student is particularly struggling with.
3. Do I have to live in Rochester to become a mentor?
No! You can be anywhere within the United States.
4. Do I have to be multilingual?
No! Our monolingual mentors will be most likely matched with the upper division English learner students.
